StairliftsThere have been massive chnages to the law regarding disabled access and regulations over the last decade the most important is the Disability and Discrimination Act that was passed in 1995. The act requires improvements to be made by the owners of property and and also makes sure that new building have all the correct disabled access. All public buildings are required to improve access to upper floors with either lift installation, ramps, stairlifts or platform lifts. While these changes were very striaght forward and low cost for some buildings some properties found the work expensive and time consuming. Disabled stairlifts are a great answer to this problem as they require very little cost and installation is quick and unobtrusive. Stairlifts can generally carry people that weigh over 20 stone, fantasic for people with limited mobility. Knowing that your stairliftt will always be reliable to lift you to where you need to go is very important to disabled and elderly people.
